    New Presentation at OSP West

Last week I had the chance to give my new presentation to 70+ photographers who are part of the OpenSourcePhoto.net forum that my friend David Jay started a few years ago.

The most amazing thing about this group is that they all want to learn and share with each other. We had photographers from all over the country fly in to help guide photo shoots and to teach different sessions.

I've given a number of presentations before but this was a new one that I had just written. It hit on the topic of marketing through every little part of your business. I included a bunch of tips that can be done for little or no money but will result in a more definite brand for your business.

So far received a ton of great comments already but I would love to hear from more of you. Feel free to post a comment on this blog if you found any of the information helpful and also how you plan on implementing it into your business.

Thanks so much for such a wonderful time!

    Share the impact:
I'm submitting this talk for Pictage's next PartnerCon conference, so if any of you are interested in helping out you can email Lisa at lallen@pictage.com and let her know how much the presentation impacted you.

    JT,

Your presentation was amazing. I could have listened to you talk a lot longer and really get into how you create a unique experience for your clients.

I especially love the thing about getting the couples to meet before the ceremony and insisting on the make up artist for the bride and bridesmaids.

I've also created different signatures for email communications and plan to get a newsletter going in the next couple weeks. I have a ton of untapped potential clients that I need to reach out to and you gave us a really simple approach on how to do that.

    Can't wait!

    Thank you!

    Juliet

I learned soooo much from your presentation JT! The biggest thing for me was including images on everything, and just making all of my correspondance, whether it be email or on paper, more visually appealing. I'm never going to miss an opportunity to get my images in front of potential clients again!

    Thanks JT. :)

There was SO much (thanks for everything) but the 1st thing that stands out to me...

"The customer wants to feel like a superstar."

Jt what you shared with us was so informative. Me and jen have been and still are thinking about what your shared and put some of it into practice now. Your slogan for the class "capture your network with image marketing made so much sense and was so well done and so simple, it was powerful. The slides you showed on "do you send your clients a email that looks like this plain and boring" and then you showed what you send your clients, and immediately I was floored and said to jen right there man that is so cool!

You have totally inspired us to change things in our business and only being about 6 months in, made us rethink things. jen has redone her signature, and we are going to make more to randomize like you said and I am thinking on how to make a layout for clients to send via email to them.

I Can honestly say OSp was amazing and inspiring and so informative, that its made a huge effect on me. I think I have found my calling that i never knew i had. I have only been shooting for about 3 months and from what you had shared, and what robin shared, and Colin, and Eric, Kenneth, and others, I almost wish I could leave my other 2 jobs and do this full time with jen. We are thinking of adding 2 more services to the business now and so much more.

Sorry I'm rambling so I will end with this, JT keep sharing your knowledge to others that are starting out and make that impact on them as you did on me and jen.

    Thank you!!

JT, you're awesome. Although it's already been said many times I have to say that getting the images in front of the clients via newsletters, emails, etc, is a simple but great idea. I loved you sharing with us at OSPW.

    JT,
Sorry I missed OSPW, but looking forward to hearing you speak at Partner Con! Are you going to both Chicago and LA or just one? I know much of that rides on your talk getting accepted, but I'm curious! As, I could go either way!
