    Sherry + Noel

I don't normally shoot wedding in Arizona during the months of June - September, but sometimes my friends talk me into tagging along with them. Yesterday I tagged along with my friend Bruce Steffine for Sherry and Noel's wedding and I'm so glad that I did. Even though it was a hot and humid day, I still got some fun images.

The bridal party bearing the heat with a beautiful Arizona sky above them.

I thought Sherry looked amazing in this picture!

This is one of my new favorites! I just love the expression in the groom.

And the reception was so much fun. They had The Rhythm Edition playing all night long. The band was amazing and kept the party going all night long! And they even came back for an encore performance. Definitely check them out!

    Yay! Gotta love the double-fisters!

    Sweet Skies

Emily and JC definitely lucked out when they planned their wedding in the middle of July in AZ. Their wedding day happened to be overcast and much cooler than days before. The overcast skies made for some amazing pictures of the bridal party.

I had the pleasure of tagging along with my friend Kristen who traveled to AZ for the wedding. I had a great time hanging out with everyone. Thanks Kristin!

    Yay Bowling!

I'm a horrible bowler, but I always have a great time. So I planned a bowling day for a group of local photographer friends. We all had such a great time goofing off.

Team 1 won both games and were celebrating, but a few of us weren't so happy. :-(

    Having a great time!

Here's the whole group. Thanks for coming out everyone!

    Something New

So many of you know that I haven't really been into portrait photography. It just seems too posed for me. But I had a friend call me up asking me to shoot pictures of his sister, brother and him as a gift for his mothers birthday. Now how can you turn down something as nice as that?

Here's some of the fun pictures:

And then after the normal shots were done I had them all jump into a fountain and start playing around. They had a great time and I got some great pictures of them.

Here's Brian with his girlfriend Amy who's sister, Carrie is getting married in January and I'll be shooting her wedding.

I hope to be shooting some portrait sessions in the future, so definitely shoot us and email if you're interested in having me take some photos.

    Photographer Resource Page

Many photographers have been requesting information regarding the iPods and applications recently. So, I finally decided to setup a site of resources for everyone.

I'll be posting some video tutorials and some information regarding the applications that we're in development on. Make sure to signup for the newsletter so that you'll get our emails for when we release new videos or products.

I will also be posting some information following my talk at the Pictage Partner Conference in September.

And definitely email me if this info helped you out!

    Kayaking the Salt River

Thursday was a record day. No, really! The mercury topped off at 118 in Phoenix, setting a record for the hottest day in the last 10 years.

But what better time is there to head to the river to cool off? I headed to the river to spend the day with my mother and a group of friends. We had a great time paddling down the river for a few hours.

I don't get to see my mother often because of our schedules, but I always love planning a day on the water with her. She loves kayaking and plans a trip down the Colorado River each year with a local group.

    San Diego Photographers

While I travel I enjoy giving local photographers a reason to get together, so I called up a bunch of San Diego photographers for some fun.

There were 12 of us that got together in Old Town San Diego at the Old Town Mexican Cafe for lunch. The chips and salsa were fresh and the burritos were piping hot. We all enjoyed chatting around the table sharing ideas and recent happenings with each other.

Thanks for coming out everyone. I'm sorry I didn't snap pictures of everyone, but my little camera is broken. :-(

I can't tell you how much I love Community. I love spending time with people. I don't have much more to say than that. Remember that investing time in others is extremely important.

    Carrie + Brandon

Wednesday was another wonderful day in California. I met with Carrie and Brandon in the afternoon at Sunset Cliffs in Ocean Beach and started off another fun engagement session. This was my first time meeting with them since they were both in California when they called to book me.

The first thing I asked was how they had met, and I had no clue how big of a question that was. I'm hoping that they'll be willing to share their story by making a post below.

For now, check out some of their engagement pictures.

    Secret Road with Harbor View

    Coronado Alleyway

Imperial Beach - Coronado Island, CA

    Downtown Coronado

    Here's all three of us.

Carrie and Brandon, thanks for making the afternoon and evening so enjoyable!
I can't wait for your wedding in January!

    Alvin + Silvana Engagement Session

Yesterday was so much fun! I spent the afternoon and evening with my friends Alvin and Silvana shooting some engagement pictures in California.
Just a little background. Alvin had asked me to photograph him proposing to Silvana last december. He proposed to her in the same elevator that they met in. It's was pretty sweet and you can check out those pictures HERE.

Since then I've been really excited to be able to spend more time with the two of them and to get some more pictures before their wedding in October.

They're from Arizona and that's where the wedding will take place, but they wanted to escape from the heat and spend time at the beach. So we drove up to Sunset Cliffs in Ocean Beach and then went to an amazing street that overlooks the whole San Diego bay area.

Then we headed over to where I'm staying on Coronado Island and had some pizza (Video of Alvin) before finishing up our session on Imperial Beach.

Then we finished up our night at Mootime.

Thanks so much for an amazing day! You two are so much fun and I'm totally blessed to be shooting your wedding!

    Mmm...Mootime!

So last night I was able to persuade (not really needed) Silvana and Alvin into joining me for some ice cream at Mootime. Mootime is the local late-night ice cream hangout on Coronado Island.

I was first in line and chose to mix Raspberry and Lemon sorbet. It was delectable! I'm a big fan of the fruit flavors.

Silvana opted for the same flavors while Alvin decided to go for a Strawberry ice cream after his first option of mango sherbet was shot down. They were all out!
He seemed to enjoy his strawberry just fine though.

And then he used my camera on me while I was enjoying mine.

    Sunset on Coronado

I arrived in Coronado, CA this afternoon to some amazing weather. I'll be out here for the next week to shoot a few engagement sessions and spend some time with my family.

I've just spent the last few hours jamming on a wedding that was supposed to be up before I left, but I've been having some computer problems that have been slowing me down. It's starting to upload now, but it's a super slow connection so, I'll probably go chill at Starbucks in the morning to have it finish uploading all 1200 pictures!

My younger brother Darren rode with me from Phoenix today. As soon as we arrived we joined up with my Dad and step-mom Kristina for dinner and then we headed to Imperial beach right next to Hotel Del Coronado. I wanted to check out the beach to see how clean it was, and to record the sunset times for sessions later this week.

Here's a few shots of my brother Darren

And then he grabbed the camera and snapped a few great pictures

BTW...I totally love my point-and-shoot camera that I just got a couple months ago. I've never had one before, but it's totally changed how I take pictures when I'm not 'working'. I've got the Panasonic 5MP Lumex camera and it's produced some amazing pictures.

Make sure to check back on the blog this week. I'll be posting some photos from the engagement sessions.

    Photography Friends

I am totally blessed to be connected with some of the best photographers in our industry. Saturday night we all got together for a dinner in Irvine, Ca and then headed to [B]ecker's house for some cupcakes that the girls had baked earlier that day.
We had quite the all-star crew hanging out that evening. [B]ecker, Mike Colon, Jessica Claire, Doug and Chenin Boutwell, Jasmine and JD, Liana, Dane Sanders, Shayla, J Sandifer, and my good friend Bruce.

Here's a shot of Liana and Jessica while at dinner. They're jammin on their Xtreme Seminars that they've got planned for later this year. Definitely check out the seminars if you can. One of them is already booked up.

The best part of the night had to of been Mike's son Aiden. He was so cute and really seemed to be having a blast hanging with all of us. (of course, we're tons of fun!)

I also shot some great video clips of Liana teaching Aiden some French.

    Always fun with Friends

Last Friday Shayla, Amy, Bruce and I headed down to the Santa Barbara beach and rented kayaks. I love kayaking and I'm trying to do it as often as I can find time. We had a great time.

Later on that night we headed to a favorite Sushi place and a local bar and of course we couldn't resist taking a few photos. OK, a LOT of photos!
Now you know what happens when you get 7 wedding photographers together at a dive bar.

    I have the coolest friends!
