D-Spur Ranch is Making Us Cowboys

While Robin was still in town four of us headed to D-Spur Ranch at Peralta Trail near the Superstition Mountains for a horseback ride. We all had a lot of fun.

It's been a while since I've been on a horse but I was dying to get on one again. Can't you tell!

This Thanksgiving weekend was a lot of fun! Robin from Bellissima Photographic Artistry was vacationing from Pittsburg and a few of us got together to entertain her.

She was staying at Caleo Resort in Scottsdale and we decided to hang out there most of the time just messing around and taking goofy pictures.

    NEW WEBSITE UPDATES!

    Hi Everyone!

I've got some cool new things happening for the business and one of those is finally finished! I just completed a major update to my website!

The new site (same look) now contains a couple new sections which include a Press/News page for up to date info and a Raves section for all of the lovely comments that I receive from all of you.

You'll also notice a change to the portfolio section. We now have an all video portfolio which includes two great videos presentations of my wedding work. In the future I'll also have a video for my engagement session photos, but for now you'll just have to scan the blog.

I'd love to hear your comments! Feel free to post them below.

    Thanksgiving with the Kitchens

I spent Thanksgiving with the Kitchen family. I've been friends with Matt since Jr. High and I always seem to end up with them every Thanksgiving which has been a lot of fun.

We spent the day talking, enjoying football games and watching LOST.

I'm very thankful that they welcome me year after year!

Last weekend I helped to shoot a wedding with a friend for his nephew. It's always interesting shooting at weddings when I've never met the couple before, but I had a lot of fun and some creative freedom which was really nice.
Here are some of my favorite shots from the wedding day.

    Sedona Engagement Photos

Sedona, Arizona is such a beautiful place. The Red Rock State Park is known around the world for its beauty and Tina and Erik wanted to take advantage of the landscape for their engagement session.

Their wedding is coming up in a few weeks so you'll see more of their photos soon.

    Wow! I love this photo!

We also headed up the the Oak Creen Canyon for a nice hike into the changing colors.

On the way home we passed by this and I thought it was so funny. The Worlds Largest Kokopelli!

Debbi + Richard in Anaheim, CA

My last travel wedding of the year was for the mother of another wedding photographer. Aronda Martin was nice enough to ask me to shoot her mother's wedding. I'm so glad she did because it was such a fun day.

    Debbi and Richard finally married!

    Mom in Snow

My mom called me over the weekend while she was visiting a friend in Colorado. She left me a voicemail letting me know that it was snowing over there. She was so excited since we don't get much snow in the Phoenix area. I thought you all would enjoy listening in.

    Attending Tim and Cheryl's Wedding

My buddy Tim Halberg got married today. It's been a great, but strange day for me. First thing is that the wedding was at 10am on Friday. Second is that I'm actually ATTENDING the wedding as a guest. Third, the only camera that I had with me was my Blackberry Pearl cameraphone. It was definitely interesting being limited to that camera, but I still snapped off a few photos.

Tim is always so funny and quirky and he didn't hold back on his wedding day. As soon as Cheryl started coming down the aisle he grabbed a big camera and started taking photos of her coming down the aisle. It was such a funny sight that I had a take out my phone and start snapping as well.

He even had time to chimp the photos he was taking.

The wedding was really beautiful in a park at the top of a hill overlooking Santa Barbara, CA.

And I got to hang out with some other photography friends who were also attending.
(me, Regis, Michael Costa [who shot the wedding photos] and Mitch & Pepper Nix)

    Silvana + Alvin

This was a really special day. Its always great shooting a friend's wedding. We always have a fun time and it's a much easier atmosphere for me to work in since most of the people usually know me already. Alvin took over my part-time job at a church over a year ago and that's how we met. He's been such an amazing and encouraging friend in my life since then.

The wedding day started out overcast which I thought would actually be great for photos, but little did I know that the weather would become so amazing for photographs. God was definitely blessing them with a beautiful sky.

Here's some photos from the day, and the slideshow below:

    Allison + Anastacio Engagement

A few weeks ago I headed out to the Mesa Arts Center to shoot Allison and Anastacio's engagement session. It was nice to see them again especially since Anastacio is busy working in Minnesota.
We all had a great time and got some great shots.

    Back On the Water

A couple weeks ago Bruce Steffine, Jeff Newton and I headed to Saguaro Lake for a break from our crazy schedules.

Bruce is another wedding photographer and he's got a great new site so be sure to check it out!

Jeff is a an amazing advertising, fashion, lifestyle and kick-ass portrait photographer!

We had a wonderful time on the lake. This is definitely the perfect time of the year for this sport.

How many of you have kayaked before?

    So Far Behind!

Things have been crazy for me lately and I just haven't had time to post much on my blog because I'm trying to edit so many photo sessions and weddings. Plus we've got something exciting in the works. Some of you already know but the rest of you will have to wait until our official release! (Sorry!) Let's see what I can catch you all up on as I sit here in Santa Barbara, CA.
