Santa Barbara and San Louis Obispo

I had a wonderful time with friends while I was in Santa Barbara to photograph Dayna and Kevin's wedding.

A big thanks goes out to my friend David Jay for letting me crash at his new pad for a few days. The view of Santa Barbara from his place is just AMAZING!


One of the days I headed up to San Louis Obispo to meet up with photographers Mike Larson and Colin Michael. We had some great tri-tips and then visited Mike's new office space that he's busy designing.

Then it was time to come home. I left DJ's place at 5:30 in the morning, hoping to miss at least some of the morning traffic into LA. As I was packing the car, I noticed this reflection from the lines on the road.

Dayna and Kevin had such a beautiful wedding in Santa Barbara yesterday. I had a wonderful time with the couple. It was so exciting to see this couple from the moment of their engagement all the way through the wedding day.

Blog Raid!

I'm sitting at my favorite coffee shop in Santa Barbara, CA right now. Finestra Caffe is such a great place to sit down and get some work done. I've been behind on posting to my blog so I've got myself all caught up now. Feel free to view all of the new posts below.



I'm off to scout some great locations for the wedding I'm photographing tomorrow at Eling's Park. Dayna and Kevin are going to have their first meeting at the beautiful SB Courthouse.

Happy Birthday Heather!

I surprised Heather by flying out to San Antonio the day after Katie and Andrew's wedding. My brother-in-law Ryan played it all so well that she had no clue that I was coming in town.

We traveled to Austin to check out the Capitol


And we took Heather out for a Teppan-Yaki dinner on her birthday


We also kayaked down the San Marcos river but ran into a few issues. First, it took us a good 2 hours longer than expected because we only had two kayaks and Ryan had to float on a tube which wasn't going to move fast. Second, we came up to a large dam that we didn't see on the map that we had. So we had to get out of the water and scout a way around the current being pulled over the dam and over to the side so we could carry the kayaks around. It was scary and pretty crazy, but we're alive!

Terry + Brian 20th Anniversary

I was invited to come and photograph a small ceremony at the Royal Palms Resort for a couple that had flown in from New Mexico with their closest friends. They wanted to renew their vows that they had originally stated 20 years ago.

One of the things that really caught my attention was how much Terry and Brian still acted like newly-weds. Kissing and just having fun together.

Visting San Francisco

I was in San Francisco a few weeks ago to spend some time with Tegan.

The first day we headed down to the Santa Cruz Mountains for some wine tastings.

The next day we headed to San Francisco so I could see some more of the sights. I made sure to buy Alcatraz tour tickets ahead of time because they sell out fast!

Kristin + Jeremy Wedding

Megan + Brian Wedding

This wedding was from June of this year.

Megan and Brian were married in the middle of the Arizona summer but we were still able to get some great photos. We didn't get to beat the heat though!

This is a beautiful shot of her neckles with a blue bridesmaid dress in the background. One of my favs from the day.

Kristin + Brett Engagement in Sedona, AZ

A couple weeks ago I spent the day with Kristin and Brett as we traveled to Sedona, AZ for some engagement photos. We had a great time and I was able to capture some wonderful moments.

Here's my favorite. This was taken at the Talaquapaque shopping plaza.

Katie + Andrew at Ashley Manor

Friday's wedding was great! I've known Katie since jr. high and it was so cool to see her get married to such a great guy. Andrew has such a calming presence around him that makes everyone feel at ease.



The best part of the day was their first dance. Katie and Andrew both wrote and recorded songs for each other. And they had their first song to Katie's song, "I Promise You". I've included this song on their slideshow.

Wedding Chronicles 10th Anniversary Party at Bentley Projects

The other week I attended the 10th Anniversary party for the Wedding Chronicles newspaper.
