Long Beach Engagement Session

I had a chance to photograph an engagement session in Long Beach with my buddy Kenneth Morgan a while back. Here are a few of my pictures that I enjoyed.

Bethany + Casey Guestbook

Our clients love our modern guestbook designs. They feature large images with plenty of room to write on and around the image. This provides a fun and memorable way for the couple to look back and enjoy their engagement pictures taken at the Montelucia Resort. The guests also love looking through the book at all the pictures. This design is of Bethany + Casey's engagement session. They had a lot of fun and we look forward to their upcoming wedding in May.

Sandra + Eric's Guestbook

Sandra and Eric's Guestbook just shipped out today. They're going to love it!


The cover has an image from Imperial Beach on Coronado, CA.


Inside are pictures from their entire session in San Diego, CA. Some from Balboa park, others from downtown.


There is still plenty of room for wedding guests to leave their wishes on these beautiful pages.


Thick pages will help ensure that this book lasts a long time.


Here is a close shot of the textured paper which is easier to write on then the smooth paper that is typically used.

Black Sand Beach on Santorini

On the morning of the wedding we headed to one of the nearby black sand beaches on Santorini for some intimate photos of Danielle and Lasha. They weathered through the cold water for some amazing photos that I know they will go crazy over. They haven't seen these yet so this is a sneak preview from this session.





This is my favorite from the session.








Lasha can get Danielle to laugh any time he likes, even when they are both freezing.

Veronica + Stephen Engagement Session in San Juan Capistrano, CA

Here are a few more photos from Veronica and Stephen's engagement session in California. We started off the session in downtown San Juan Capistrano and and then headed to Newport Beach for a beach session.

Veronica + Stephen Engagement Session in Newport Beach, CA

Veronica and Stephen get a ton of points for being fearless in February. They wanted to get some great ocean photos while we were out here in California for their engagement session and so they got into the freezing cold water for the last part of our session. Here are a few of the photos from that evening.

First Day in NYC

Erin and Scot met in New York City and so it was only fitting for us to all fly out there for their engagement session. Ardon and Missy, their friends joined us as well.
The first night in NY we took some photos in Times Square. There is so much light around that you don't even need a flash.



I love this one. They weren't sure what to do so they just started laughing. And the cabs were driving on either side of them for a great photo.


We went out to dinner to the Blue Water Grill with some of Erin's friends from NY. One of Erin's friends, Linda, was celebrating her birthday that evening (26th) and my birthday was on the 27th so the night was filled with celebrations.

Missy was not feeling well so she missed out on all of the fun. We moved the party over to the Flatiron Lounge for the rest of the night.

Jessica and Tim Engagement in San Diego

Today I drove to San Diego to meet up with Jessica and Tim for their engagement photos. They are getting married next year. We had a great time running around and getting a bit wet on Shelter Island and Coronado Island.

Kristin + Brett Engagement in Sedona, AZ

A couple weeks ago I spent the day with Kristin and Brett as we traveled to Sedona, AZ for some engagement photos. We had a great time and I was able to capture some wonderful moments.

Here's my favorite. This was taken at the Talaquapaque shopping plaza.

Jennifer + Travis Engagement on Coronado Island

While in San Diego I met up with Jennifer and Travis who also traveled out there from Arizona so I could photograph their engagement session in much nicer weather.
We met up on Coronado Island to walk around the city, grab a bite to eat and play at the beach.

Rachel and Eli Engagement at ASU

On Friday I met up with Rachel and Eli for their engagement session. What I didn't know until a week before was that Eli hadn't yet officially asked Rachel to marry him. They had decided that if they wanted a Fall wedding that they would have to start planning everything.

So, Eli called me to let me know that he had the ring and that he wanted to ask her at the end of their engagement session. We met up at ASU and walked around taking a bunch of photos.







And then at the end of our time we stopped at the bench that they had first met at. They sat down and I could tell Eli was nervous. But after a short while he pulled out the ring and officially asked Rachel to marry him! She of course said YES!

Shannon and Mitch in Barrio Viejo

Shannon and Mitch picked a great location for their engagement photos. We all headed to Tucson, AZ into a part of the city called Barrio Viejo that is seeing a rejuvination. The building are all unique painted with bright colors and styles.

Shannon's daughter Annaliese came along for some photos as well. She was definitely not afraid of the camera!

Mitch sent us a great letter after the session:

We had an amazing time and really appreciate you guys driving down to Tucson to be with us. We were actually sad when the shoot was over because we had such a great time :)

Jennifer + Dominic Engagement

Tuesday night I met up with Jennifer and Dominic at the Sweet O Wine and Chocolate Lounge where you can usually find them a few times a week. We had a wonderful time talking about all of the hidden hot spots of the city and their upcoming wedding on Cinco de Mayo. They've got steel drummers for the coctail hour, should be fun!

Lori and Jon Engagement

I photographed Lori and Jon's engagement photos last month and I totally forgot to post them here.



We started off the night in downtown Tempe, AZ with some dinner at my favorite Irish pub, Rula Bula. After dinner we took a few nightime photos before heading off to bowling!



Lori and Jon started off their relationship at a work sponsored bowling night. So it was only fitting that we take some photos of them bowling.









They're wedding is going to be super beautiful up in Sedona, AZ next month. I can't wait for some great photos of them with the red rocks.

Kristin and Jeremy Engagement

This afternoon I met up with Kristin and Jeremy to take some engagement photos. We headed out to Fountain Hills, AZ where the largest fountain in the world is located.








I met Jeremy at the coffee shop that I frequent a few miles from my studio. He and Kristin spend a lot of their time hanging out at the coffee shop together so I thought it was only fitting to take some photos of them over at Goldbar doing their usual thing.

April and Clint

A few days after Christmas I met up with April and Clint for an engagement session while they were in town. They're both living in Cincinnati and were in town for the holidays and an engagement party. I'm sure they're going to have a blast at the wedding also. Everyone is headed this June to a small village in Scotland where Clint's family is from.

Kirstie and Steve Engagement

This is going to be a cool wedding. I've worked with Steve twice now, no he hasn't been married twice before. First he was one of the groomsman for Amy and Luke and then he officiated for Kari and Kevin's wedding.

And now it's finally his time to get married!


Kirstie and Steve are all smiles when they're together as you can tell.

Lynette and Jon

A few months ago we took some photos and part of our plan failed so we met up again for a few more photos, this time at the Mesa Arts Center.

Megan and Brian Engagement

Megan, Brian and I hung out yesterday to take some engagement photos for them. We started out at a park and then ended up in old town Gilbert, AZ.

Amy + Brian

This weekend I shot Amy and Brian's engagement photos in downtown Scottsdale, AZ. We had a good time and got some fun photos of the two of them.





Brian has been working hard on creating their own wedding website and I have to say that I was blown away by how cool it looks. You can read about how they met (from each other's perspective) and look through their photo gallery.

Sedona Engagement Photos

Sedona, Arizona is such a beautiful place. The Red Rock State Park is known around the world for its beauty and Tina and Erik wanted to take advantage of the landscape for their engagement session.

Their wedding is coming up in a few weeks so you'll see more of their photos soon.

We also headed up the the Oak Creen Canyon for a nice hike into the changing colors.

Allison + Anastacio Engagement

A few weeks ago I headed out to the Mesa Arts Center to shoot Allison and Anastacio's engagement session. It was nice to see them again especially since Anastacio is busy working in Minnesota.
We all had a great time and got some great shots.

Jenn + Rob Engagement Session

Before I left for Dallas last week I shot Jenn and Rob's engagement session.

We had a slight change in plans when we noticed that a festival was going on in the location we had a planned to shoot so we just ended up walking around downtown Phoenix.

Jenn had booked me when I had first started and I'm so glad that we connected then. They are both so much fun to be around and Rob is a jokester like me so I'm sure there will be some fun times at the wedding.

We marched all around the downtown Phoenix area and continued shooting into the night. We ended up in some pretty cool places and I thought the photos turned out awesome.











Their wedding is going to be at the Orange Tree Golf Resort in Phoenix in December and I know they're also getting a cake from Tammie Coe Cakes as well which will be awesome. Be sure to come back and look at their wedding photos!

Kim + Jason E-session

We got home safe last night after spending a wonderful afternoon at the San Diego airport. I'm so glad to finally be home for the next 9 days.

My time with Kim and Jason was very encouraging and entertaining. We spent the entire Saturday taking some fun photos of the two of them. Kim was so worried about being in front of the camera at first, but I think you'll agree with me that they both look natural!

Carrie + Brandon

Wednesday was another wonderful day in California. I met with Carrie and Brandon in the afternoon at Sunset Cliffs in Ocean Beach and started off another fun engagement session. This was my first time meeting with them since they were both in California when they called to book me.

The first thing I asked was how they had met, and I had no clue how big of a question that was. I'm hoping that they'll be willing to share their story by making a post below.

Alvin + Silvana Engagement Session

Yesterday was so much fun! I spent the afternoon and evening with my friends Alvin and Silvana shooting some engagement pictures in California.
Just a little background. Alvin had asked me to photograph him proposing to Silvana last december. He proposed to her in the same elevator that they met in. It's was pretty sweet and you can check out those pictures HERE.

Since then I've been really excited to be able to spend more time with the two of them and to get some more pictures before their wedding in October.

They're from Arizona and that's where the wedding will take place, but they wanted to escape from the heat and spend time at the beach. So we drove up to Sunset Cliffs in Ocean Beach and then went to an amazing street that overlooks the whole San Diego bay area.













Then we headed over to where I'm staying on Coronado Island and had some pizza (Video of Alvin) before finishing up our session on Imperial Beach.









Then we finished up our night at Mootime.

Thanks so much for an amazing day! You two are so much fun and I'm totally blessed to be shooting your wedding!

Sarah + Jon Engagement Session

I had a blast this weekend shooting Sarah and Jon's pre-wedding session. We shot in Santa Barbara, CA at the beach and a park during the day and then met up in the evening for a night session on State Street.

I've known Jon for a few years now and I was really excited when they asked me to shoot their wedding. It's in just a few months down in Orange County and I can't wait!

Beach Session with Ann and Mike

What a privilege I had to join a bunch of photographers from OpenSource Photo forum this week. A bunch of them were in Newport Beach for Mike Colon's seminar this week. I joined up with them at the end of their week with Mike.

One of the couple's, Mike Buoy and his wife Ann had a poor wedding photography experience for their wedding 4 years ago, so a bunch of us headed down to the beach to take some photographs that they could keep and treasure.

Frank Dimeo, Kevin Meyers, Dan Watkins, Jim Cook and Lori Creech are all amazing photographers from all of the country. It was amazing to be able to see how everyone works differently.

I feel so blessed that Mike and Ann would allow us to photograph them.
