    Fourth of July on Coronado

I spent the 4th of July on Coronado island in California with my dad and brother. There is a huge parade each year on the island that we were able to enjoy.

This cute dog was sitting by us.

With a base being on the island there was a large presence of military in the parade.

Including the girl scouts with their Operation Thin Mint car.

In the San Diego bay there was a ship with a huge flag on it

    The sunset was beautiful

Then the fireworks began with the San Diego skyline behind.

I hope you all had a wonderful and safe Independence Day! What a great country we have!

    London

We arrived in London to beautiful and rare blue skies. Matt and I both agreed that people should travel with us because we both bring great weather with us to wherever we visit.

Here is the parliament building with the famous clock tower housing the "Big Ben bell.

Matt and I visited the British Museum and the National Gallery (behind us) where we saw some great pieces by Rembrant, Monet and Van Gogh amongst many others.

While I wasn't in Ireland, I was still much closer than I had been before and so I had to see how the Guinness was. It was DELECTABLE!

My friend Ashley was my guide for a couple of London's secrets. She told me we had to visit Piāno a small piano bar. If you're in town over a weekend evening definitely go check it out with a group.

Our second day we hopped on one of those annoying tour buses and rode around the entire city. One of our stops was at the majestic St. Paul's Cathedral. The cathedral was one of my favorites sites to see in London.

The the view from the outside of the top tower was awe-inspiring. It seemed just as high as the London Eye which we decided to skip because of the cost.

We also passed under the famous Tower Bridge. This summer scaffolding will go up around the bridge as it undergoes a facelift before the 2012 Olympics.

The guards in front of Buckingham Palace wear those goofy looking hats. We didn't find one that we could take a picture next to but after further investigation you can go to St. James' Palace and just around the corner past the courtyard is a guard on his own that you can apparently stand next to. So if you're visiting London be sure to head over there for a photo op.

And as I mentioned before, both of the full days that we visited we had beautiful sunny days. Here at Hyde Park everyone was out playing football (soccer) and enjoying the weather.

    More from Greece

I posted many of the wedding photos from my Greece trip but here are some of my photos from when my friend Matt and I visited Athens.

The city of Athens in general is a dirty city but it does have a beautiful area surrounding the Acropolis. Here is one of the walkways with open cafes along the side.

It's pretty amazing to see the old ruins with the entire city surrounding it. Here you can see the Temple of Hephaistos standing strong amongst the rest of the Agora.

From the Agora you can view the mighty Acropolis built upon its limestone bed. It is an amazing sight from below and I can only imaging the majestic presence that it had when it was completed. From the Acropolis you have a wonderful 360 degree view of Athens as it stretches on one side to the mountain and the other to the sea.

Here the Temple of Hephaistos stands on the hill overlooking the Agora.

The temple is the most complete of the buildings remaining at the Agora. Here are some of the 46 mighty columns.

And of course I had a wonderful cappuccino before we left Athens and headed for London.

Santorini, Greece - Wedding - Danielle + Lasha

Here are a few favorites from the wedding day! There are many more photos and we'll have a slideshow of the trip up a bit later but here is a preview of wedding.

    Danielle was looking amazing!

Danielle has such an addictive smile

The ceremony was overlooking the Aegean Sea and with the volcano in the background

We all enjoyed a desert wine from one of the local Santorini vinyards after the ceremony.

Here is the entire group of friends and family that joined in the celebration.

    Lasha and his brother Teimo

    Danielle and the girls

The view was breathtaking as you can see!

After the ceremony everybody was lead through the city streets by two fiddlers to the restaurant where the reception was.

Danielle and Lasha were so great to be with and as you can see they are entirely in love with each other.

    Oia - Santorini, Greece

We went to Oia on one end of the island of Santorini. The city is built right into the wall of the caldera with most of the homes having a least half of the home as a cave.

    Fira - Santorini, Greeece

The capitol city of Fira has the most amazing view of the volcano and other islands around Santorini. We have also been blessed with amazing weather as you can see below.

The view from the reception restaurant.

Wow! I think I'll be offering this photo as a large wall print.

    Finally Arrived

Well, I finally made it to the Cornerstone Inn Bed and Breakfast in Washington, IL.

It's definitely a small town and I'm not sure what we're going to do for dinner tonight because the two restaurants within walking distance are both closed tonight. It'll be interesting.

    Delayed in Peoria, IL

Well after 3 hours of delays and switching planes in Atlanta, we finally made it to Peoria but it would have been very late by the time that I had gotten to the Bed and Breakfast that I'm scheduled to stay at. So for now I'm going to grab a few hours of sleep and wake up to a wonderful breakfast here at a brand new Embassy Suites.

    Latest Trip to Texas

I've been going to Texas often now that Heather (album designer and sister) and her husband moved to New Braunfels, TX.

I was out there a week ago and had a great time in between the work. The city had their big seasonal Wassailfest celebration. There were 50 wassail stops by local groups where you would get a sample and then you would vote at the end of the night for the best wassail.

A little holiday music to help the wassail go down.

    Mmm...Brat in a wrap

    The party crew minus Steven.

    Heather and I

It was a fest week for us while I was there. When I showed up we had Cheesefest at Heather's house with a cheese fondue. Next year we're planning Chocolate fest as well.

(Ryan, Heather, Jaime, Steven, Mona, Me)

I can't forget the week full of Guitar Hero III on the Wii. And YES, I did get plenty of work done as well.

Fall in Arizona, originally uploaded by Jefferson Todd Pals.

Yesterday went great and we did finally make it up to Prescott. I love how the colors are changing up here. Being from Phoenix I don't get to see the fall colors often, so I really enjoy them when I can make it up north.

I hope you are all having a wonderful day. I'm off to Dallas tomorrow and will be back in the office on Friday.

Santa Barbara and San Louis Obispo

I had a wonderful time with friends while I was in Santa Barbara to photograph Dayna and Kevin's wedding.

A big thanks goes out to my friend David Jay for letting me crash at his new pad for a few days. The view of Santa Barbara from his place is just AMAZING!

One of the days I headed up to San Louis Obispo to meet up with photographers Mike Larson and Colin Michael. We had some great tri-tips and then visited Mike's new office space that he's busy designing.
    Myself, Mike and Colin

Then it was time to come home. I left DJ's place at 5:30 in the morning, hoping to miss at least some of the morning traffic into LA. As I was packing the car, I noticed this reflection from the lines on the road.

    Happy Birthday Heather!

I surprised Heather by flying out to San Antonio the day after Katie and Andrew's wedding. My brother-in-law Ryan played it all so well that she had no clue that I was coming in town.

Here's a fun video of them pulling up to the airport to pick up one of Ryan's "co-workers"!

We traveled to Austin to check out the Capitol

And we took Heather out for a Teppan-Yaki dinner on her birthday

We also kayaked down the San Marcos river but ran into a few issues. First, it took us a good 2 hours longer than expected because we only had two kayaks and Ryan had to float on a tube which wasn't going to move fast. Second, we came up to a large dam that we didn't see on the map that we had. So we had to get out of the water and scout a way around the current being pulled over the dam and over to the side so we could carry the kayaks around. It was scary and pretty crazy, but we're alive!

    Visting San Francisco

I was in San Francisco a few weeks ago to spend some time with Tegan.

The first day we headed down to the Santa Cruz Mountains for some wine tastings.

One of the vineyards that visted was Byington Vinyard and Winery

The next day we headed to San Francisco so I could see some more of the sights. I made sure to buy Alcatraz tour tickets ahead of time because they sell out fast!

    Padres Baseball Game

My dad, brother and I took a guys trip to San Diego this summer. We spent a week at a beach house on South Mission Beach which was awesome!

The second day of our vacation we headed to downtown San Diego for a Padres vs Braves game.

    My brother Darren

I love how they incorporated the old Western Metal Supply Co. brick building into the design of the new Petco Park. There are seat on each level of that building.

They also had a cool beach sand pit and a wiffle ball field in the outfield for the kids to play in.

    Arrived in Coronado, CA

I'm finally in the cool California weather. And right now I am enjoying a blended strawberry lemonade at Starbucks.

Coronado Island is definitely one of my favorite places in the San Diego area. I made the mistake of not looking for a place here early enough and I couldn't get a full week so we're going to be staying at a house in Mission Beach. Besides an engagement session today for Jennifer and Travis, this is really my first break since the chaos of the Arizona spring season.

I'm looking forward to spending time with my dad and brother as well as reflecting on the last few month. Its definitely time to write up some more goals.

    Rock on!

Anneliese + Jeremy Wedding in Sacramento

This wedding was so much fun! A few weeks ago I photographed Anneliese and Jeremy's engagement photos on Laguna Beach. Here's one of the great shots from the session.

And now I had the priviledge to fly into Sacramento to photograph their wedding at the old downtown Westminster Presbyterian Church. They were so much fun to work with. We had their first meeting of the day at the church and then we walked around part of the surrounding downtown area for some great photos.

    Beautiful Anneliese

    Ron

After the Pictage Partner Conference I rode the train into the city to visit with my friend Ron O'Day for a few days. Ron and I worked together at Starbucks for over 6 years and he moved to Chicago about 9 months ago. He's currently attending the film program at Columbia College.

He brought me to an awesome cafe in the morning. It's called Julius Meinl and was founded in Vienna in 1862. I love how they serve a small chocolate and water with every coffee ordered.

After breakfast I went out on my own to see Chicago.
